  Endometrial Hyperplasia is characterized by an abnormal proliferation of endometrial glands resulting from an imbalance between estrogenic stimulation and inadequate progesterone effects. This hormonal disarray can be triggered by various endogenous and exogenous factors, leading to irregular growth of the endometrium across a spectrum of changes. The risk factors associated with endometrial hyperplasia include age, nulliparity, obesity, genetic factors, diabetes mellitus, anovulatory cycles like in PCOS and perimenopause, ovarian tumors like granulosa cell tumors, hormone replacement therapy (especially estrogen-only therapy, which should be avoided in women with a uterus), over-the-counter herbal preparations with high estrogen content, as well as immunosuppression and infections, which might contribute to its development.
