Pemphigus Vulgaris – Market Outlook, Epidemiology, Competitive Landscape, and Market Forecast Report – 2023 To 2033

Pemphigus Vulgaris, an autoimmune blistering disease primarily affecting the skin and mucous membranes, is characterized by circulating autoantibodies directed against keratinocyte cell surfaces. The root cause of Pemphigus Vulgaris lies in these autoantibodies, which specifically target keratinocyte proteins known as desmogleins. This attack leads to an adhesion breakdown between keratinocytes, a phenomenon called acantholysis. This destructive process is initiated by binding circulating immunoglobulin G (IgG) autoantibodies to intercellular adhesion molecules. Pemphigus Vulgaris can manifest at any age, though it is most commonly diagnosed in individuals aged 45 to 65. In a typical presentation of Pemphigus Vulgaris, approximately 80% of cases start with lesions on the oral mucosa, often resulting in blister formation that can rupture and cause painful erosions. Cutaneous lesions occur in about 75% of patients, typically following the development of oral blisters. The disease ca...

Pemphigus Vulgaris – Market Outlook, Epidemiology, Competitive Landscape, and Market Forecast Report – 2021 To 2032

Pemphigus Vulgaris (PV) is a rare autoimmune disease that is characterised by painful blisters and erosions on the skin and mucous membranes, most commonly inside the mouth. The keratinocytes are cemented together at unique sticky spots called desmosomes. In pemphigus Vulgaris, immunoglobulin type G (IgG) autoantibodies bind to a protein called desmoglein 3 (dsg3), which is found in desmosomes in the keratinocytes near the bottom of the epidermis. The result is that the keratinocytes separate from each other and are replaced by fluid (the blister). First, PV prevalence and incidence are low but differ significantly among diverse ethnic populations, as evident by the wide range of the worldwide annual incidence of the disease, estimated to be between 0.75 and 5 new cases per million. Thelansis’s “Pemphigus Vulgaris Market Outlook, Epidemiology, Competitive Landscape , and Market Forecast Report – 2021 To 2032" covers disease overview, epidemiology, drug utili...
