Acquired fibrinogen deficiency (AFD), often linked with significant blood loss, presents a recurrent challenge in critical care scenarios. Fibrinogen plays a pivotal role in clot formation, as a crucial protein for initiating and maintaining coagulation. Typically, normal fibrinogen levels range from 1.5 to 4.5 g/l, with increases observed during pregnancy.
