  Neurofibromatosis is a medical condition that is not isolated. It describes three distinct disorders in which tumors grow and may impact the brain, spinal cord, or nerves that transmit information from the brain to the spinal cord to every other body area. While some tumors can potentially become malignant, most are benign (not cancerous). All racial and ethnic groupings, as well as both biological sexes, are affected by neurofibromatosis.
