  Chronic plaque psoriasis, also known as psoriasis vulgaris, represents a persistent inflammatory dermatological condition characterized by well-defined, erythematous, and scaly plaques predominantly affecting the body's and scalp's extensor surfaces. The disease course of chronic plaque psoriasis is marked by periods of exacerbation and remission, exhibiting substantial inter-individual variability in severity and progression.
