  Gastritis refers to inflammation of the stomach lining, a medical condition that can be categorized based on its duration (acute or chronic), histological features, or underlying causes. Acute gastritis is a transient inflammation resulting from stress on the gastric mucosa, presenting with either hemorrhagic or non-hemorrhagic symptoms. Chronic gastritis, on the other hand, presents as either atrophic or non-atrophic forms.
