  Axillary hyperhidrosis is a condition in which excessive production of sweat is localized to the armpits, serving to regulate thermoregulation and adapt to environmental conditions. The pathophysiology of axillary hyperhidrosis remains incompletely understood. The axilla's three types of sweat glands are apocrine, eccrine, and apocrine. The clinical features of axillary hyperhidrosis typically emerge during puberty or adolescence and persist throughout the individual's lifetime. Affected individuals often report profuse sweating, even without environmental or physical stimuli. Additionally, patients frequently experience clothing stains and, in rare instances, softening of the skin in the axillary region. First-line treatment for axillary hyperhidrosis involves the use of topical antiperspirants.
