  A cervix lesion refers to an abnormality or changes in the cells of the cervix, which is the lower part of the uterus that connects to the vagina. These lesions can be identified through routine screening tests like Pap smears and colposcopy. The most common types of cervix lesions are cervical dysplasia, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), and cervical cancer. Cervical Dysplasia: Cervical dysplasia is a precancerous condition where the cells on the surface of the cervix undergo abnormal changes. It is often detected through a Pap smear, a screening test to collect cells from the cervix and examine them for abnormalities. Dysplasia is graded as mild (CIN 1), moderate (CIN 2), or severe (CIN 3). Mild dysplasia may resolve independently, but moderate to severe dysplasia requires medical intervention to prevent it from progressing into cervical cancer.
