Neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2) is an autosomal-dominant tumor-prone disorder predisposed to nerve system tumors. Bilateral vestibular schwannoma (VS) is pathognomonic or the disease, whereas schwannoma at other locations, meningiomas, ependymomas, and early onset lenticular opacities are frequently associated with the phenotypes. About 40% of all patients were monosymptomatic, 55% showed ≥2 symptoms at symptom onset, and ~5% were asymptomatic. Including polysymptomatic occurrence and symptomatic and asymptomatic findings, 62% of young patients exhibit ophthalmological abnormalities, followed by cutaneous findings (43%). Most people with NF2 develop symptoms in the late teen and early adult years, although about 10% of people develop symptoms during late childhood.
