  Acute otitis externa (AOE), commonly called 'swimmer's ear,' is prevalent among individuals across various age groups, including children, adolescents, and adults. AOE is characterized by widespread inflammation of the outer ear canal, often exacerbated by prolonged exposure to moisture and frequently associated with swimming activities. The continuous dampness in the ear canal compromises local defense mechanisms, leading to skin desquamation and the formation of microscopic fissures, which serve as entry points for infectious organisms.
