Chronic pancreatitis is a multifactorial, fibroinflammatory syndrome in which repetitive episodes of pancreatic inflammation lead to extensive fibrotic tissue replacement, resulting in chronic pain, exocrine and endocrine pancreatic insufficiency, reduced quality of life, and a shorter life expectancy. Etiology- The TIGAR-O classification system, identifies 6 major etiologies for Chronic pancreatitis :  toxic/metabolic (T), idiopathic (I), genetic (G), autoimmune (A), recurrent and severe acute pancreatitis (R), and obstruction (O).   Epidemiology- The prevalence between 2001 and 2013 of adult US Americans with health insurance (48·67 million) was 25·4–98·7 per 100000 people, depending on search criteria, with a small increase in the male to female ratio of 1·05 (75·2 men vs 71·8 women per 100000 people), peaking in patients aged 46–55 years.16 The incidence is estimated to be four to five new cases per 100000 per year, thus confirming data from a comprehensive population-base...
