  HER2-Positive Metastatic Breast Cancer is characterized by the overexpression and amplification of the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2). It is a highly aggressive subtype with unfavorable survival prospects. Approximately 15% to 20% of breast cancers exhibit amplification of the HER2 gene, which is linked to an elevated risk of systemic metastasis and poor survival rates. Three primary indicators of HER2-positive breast cancer should promptly alert a physician: Nipple discharge, Sudden nipple inversion, and Changes in the texture of the breast skin. Currently, HER2 status can be determined through two tests on biopsy samples: immunohistochemistry (IHC) and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH).
