 Acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML) is a type of cancer that affects the bone marrow and involves the malignant growth of myeloid precursors of white blood cells. Among pediatric cases of AML, acute myelomonocytic leukemia (AML-M4) is a frequently occurring subtype. The symptoms of AML can be non-specific and include weakness, paleness, fever, lightheadedness, and respiratory problems. However, more specific indicators of the disease include bleeding or bruising, coagulation disorders (DIC), neurological symptoms, and gingival hyperplasia.
