  Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA), also known as Churg-Strauss syndrome or allergic granulomatosis and angiitis, is a rare and severe form of anti-neutrophil cytoplasm antibody-associated vasculitis characterized by eosinophil-rich granulomatous inflammation and small to medium-sized vessel vasculitis. It is an autoimmune disorder that affects multiple systems in the body and is often associated with bronchial asthma and tissue eosinophilia. The exact cause of EGPA is unknown, but it is triggered by various factors such as allergens, infections, vaccinations, and drugs. It typically affects people between the ages of 7 and 74, with no gender or ethnic predilection.
