Burkitt Lymphoma Overview Burkitt lymphoma (BL) is a highly aggressive non-Hodgkin B-cell lymphoma, often associated with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and chromosomal translocations leading to the overexpression of the oncogene C-MYC. In most cases, Burkitt lymphoma exhibits a specific translocation, t(8;14)(q24;q32), which brings the MYC/c-Myc gene (8q24) in close proximity to the heavy chain immunoglobulin gene (14q32). ...

Burkitt lymphoma (BL) is a highly aggressive non-Hodgkin B-cell lymphoma, often associated with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and chromosomal translocations leading to the overexpression of the oncogene C-MYC. In most cases, Burkitt lymphoma exhibits a specific translocation, t(8;14)(q24;q32), which brings the MYC/c-Myc gene (8q24) in close proximity to the heavy chain immunoglobulin gene (14q32). In rarer instances, this translocation affects chromosome 2 (kappa chain in immunoglobulins) or 22 (lambda chain in immunoglobulins). Burkitt lymphoma can be categorized into three clinical groups: endemic, sporadic, and immunodeficiency-related. The endemic form is associated with malaria and EBV, while the immunodeficiency-related variant is linked to HIV and organ transplantation to a lesser extent. Children generally have a favorable prognosis with intensive chemotherapy treatment, but the outlook for adults is less promising. Pediatric patients are ty...

Burkitt lymphoma (BL) is an aggressive non-Hodgkin B-cell lymphoma. The disease is associated with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and chromosomal translocations that cause the overexpression of oncogene C-MYC. It is classified into three clinical groups: endemic, sporadic and immunodeficiency-related. The endemic form is linked to malaria and EBV. The immunodeficiency-related variant is associated with HIV and to a lesser extent, organ transplantation. With intense chemotherapy treatment, the disease prognosis is excellent in children but poor in adults. In Europe, the standardized incidence ratio of Burkitt lymphoma is 1/530,000 for individuals aged between 0 and 14 years and 1/670,000 for individuals aged between 15 and 19 years. Males are affected more than females. Burkitt lymphoma is associated with a specific translocation t(8;14)(q24;q32) that juxtaposes the MYC/c-Myc gene (8q24) next to the heavy chain immunoglobulin gene (14q32). In rare cases the translocation affects chromosome 2 (kappa chain in immunoglobulins) or 22 (lambda chain in immunoglobulins).  Etiology- In Europe the standardized incidence ratio is 1/530,000 for individuals aged between 0 and 14 years and 1/670,000 for individuals aged between 15 and 19 years. Males are affected more than females. Prevalence: Unknown   Clinical Trial Assessment-  Detailed clinical trial data analysis and key product positioning includes trial design, primary outcomes, secondary outcomes, dosing and schedules, inclusion and exclusion criteria, recruitment status and essentially covers the reported adverse events. Majorly the trial analysis helps in determining the potential of the key assets as well as their probable filing and launch date.   The competitive land...
