Advanced and
Metastatic Colorectal Cancer Market Outlook
Thelansis’s “Advanced and
Metastatic Colorectal Cancer Market Outlook, Epidemiology, Competitive
Landscape, and Market Forecast Report – 2025 To 2035” covers disease
overview, epidemiology, drug utilization, prescription share analysis,
competitive landscape, clinical practice, regulatory landscape, patient share,
market uptake, market forecast, and key market insights under the potential Advanced and Metastatic Colorectal Cancer treatment modalities
options for eight major markets (USA, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, UK, Japan,
and China).
Advanced and
Metastatic Colorectal Cancer Overview
Advanced and metastatic colorectal
cancer (CRC) is driven by accumulated somatic mutations (APC, KRAS, BRAF) and
mismatch repair (MMR) status. Because genomics dictate therapeutic selection,
comprehensive molecular profiling (RAS/BRAF, MMR/MSI, HER2, NTRK) is mandatory.
The frontline backbone remains fluoropyrimidine chemotherapy (FOLFOX/FOLFIRI)
combined with VEGF inhibitors (bevacizumab) or, for left-sided RAS wild-type
tumors, EGFR inhibitors (cetuximab). However, precision medicine has
transformed the algorithm. MSI-H disease is treated frontline with immune
checkpoint inhibitors. Following the 2026 BREAKWATER approval, BRAF
V600E-mutant CRC is managed frontline with encorafenib/cetuximab combined with
chemotherapy. Crucially, the historically “undruggable” KRAS mutation is now
targetable: chemorefractory KRAS G12C-mutated disease is treated with sotorasib
plus panitumumab or adagrasib plus cetuximab. HER2-amplified and NTRK-positive
cancers receive matched targeted agents. Later-line options include fruquintinib.
Highly selected oligometastatic disease may warrant surgical resection with
curative intent.
