Sclerosis (MS) Market Access and Reimbursement Insights Report –
2025″ provides comprehensive payer insights on the current and evolving
market access and reimbursement environments for branded and emerging drugs in

insights generation, as well as their importance during drug development,
pre-market launch strategy, and post-marketing activities.
Multiple
Sclerosis (MS) Overview
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an
autoimmune disease of the central nervous system characterized by chronic
inflammation, demyelination, gliosis, and neuronal loss. Lesions occur at
different times and sites, described as “disseminated in time and space.” The
disease course varies, with most patients (70–80%) initially presenting with
relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS), while 15–20% develop primary
progressive multiple sclerosis (PPMS), and some may transition to secondary
progressive multiple sclerosis (SPMS). Diagnosis requires evidence of at least
two CNS inflammatory events, with relapses often partially or fully resolving.
Current FDA-approved therapies—including fumarates such as diroximel fumarate,
monoclonal antibodies like ocrelizumab, and other immunomodulators—aim to
suppress inflammation and are most effective in early RRMS. Ocrelizumab remains
the only FDA-approved disease-modifying therapy for PPMS, administered
intravenously every six months. Advances in 2025 highlight a shift toward therapies
targeting remyelination and neuroprotection, expanding treatment beyond immune
suppression.
