Oral
mucositis is a common and important complication of non-surgical cancer
treatments, especially radiation therapy for head and neck tumors. It is an
inflammation of the lining of the mouth that can cause redness, swelling, and
ulcers. Eating, drinking, and talking can also make it difficult or painful.
Oropharyngeal mucositis is a particularly common complication of head and neck
