The adult-onset of X-linked Adrenoleukodystrophy, called as Adrenomyeloneuropathy (AMN), is characterized by ABCD1 gene mutation, which results in impaired peroxisome function with an accumulation of very long chain fatty acids (VLCFA) and demyelination.
