Adrenal crisis (Addisonian crisis/acute adrenal insufficiency/bronze Addison disease) as a profound impairment of general health and at least two of the following conditions hypotension (systolic blood pressure 100mmHg), severe fatigue, vomiting or nausea, hyperkalemia, hypoglycemia, and hyponatremia triggering parenteral glucocorticoid administration. They cannot adjust their usual dose of glucocorticoid therapy, causing their body cortisol stores to rapidly deplete, leading to an adrenal crisis as patients cannot produce cortisol.
